In Chapter 1 of Group Dynamics, I was informed that group dynamics are where influential interpersonal processes take place specifically in a group setting. So, for example, on Thursday the 26th, each group in class were required to form a Prezi that included black lives matter. In my group, we made a Prezi on the movie the Blind Side. We included Tuckman’s 5 stages of group development. The forming process of the movie was when Michael Oher joined the football team. Following was the storming process, where Leigh Anne Tuohy took Michael in and started to provide for him. Norming was where Michael started to feel apart of the family. Performing was where Michal really shined and got offers from many schools. Finally, he attends Ole Miss on a scholarship and he adjourns with his new found family. This whole movie really reflects group dynamics, because interpersonal communication was so prominent. Interpersonal communication is when people communicate face-to-face. Leigh Ann did a great job being present for Michael and her other two kids.

In class on Tuesday the 31st, we talked about how Trump got elected because of social media. Whether people like him or hate him, they talked about him which made him our president-elect. The news and social media helped to make him become our president. Media really does help influence people’s opinions, however, opinions can also create a lot of tension.

Also in class on Tuesday, the 31st, we edited our prezis learned more on group development.
We also had another assigned reading called: The Secret to Smart Groups: It's Women. The reading discussed how women are more inclined to understand others and colleagues. This is another reason people would expect the gender wage gap to ultimately change. Researchers at MIT figured out that some groups are smarter than others. When working a groups of five they are more likely to succeed then working in a larger group. Small group communication is crucial. When people work in small groups they are more likely to feed off of one another.
